Neill, his brother Callum and group of ten friends took on their own challenge and decided to take on the three Peaks Challenge by climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours in memory of their sister Grace. Grace took her own life in August 2025 and her family now campaigns against a pro-suicide forum.
Neil said: “Grace was incredibly talented, funny and caring; she was loved by everyone who knew her. Doing the Three Peaks Challenge is exactly the kind of thing she would never have wanted to do, but we hope it will help raise awareness and funds for such an important cause. The government and tech companies need to work together to create a safer online world and save lives like Grace’s.”
“My friends and I have always enjoyed climbing mountains, it’s a great opportunity to spend time together and have a laugh. The Three Peaks Challenge is on another level entirely, but raising funds in Grace’s memory is all the motivation we need. I couldn’t think of a better group to do this with; I think it’s hard for people to know how to support you when you experience loss like this, but my friends have been incredible.
“Planning logistics, start times and routes has been just as important as the fitness training. Thankfully, my Dad Robert and Owen’s dad Gary are our designated mini bus drivers, so we’re in safe hands.”
