- The charity has delivered 1,725 training courses in 2024
- Bags of Happiness distributed to 4,936 children in 12 months
Almost five thousand children across England have created Molly Rose Foundation-designed Bags of Happiness in the past 12 months.
Suitable for children aged between 7-11, these cheerful purple bags support PSHE lessons and encourage children to create and collect happy memories, enabling them to reflect upon these and gain strength when needed.
As well as this hands-on activity with children, the Harrow-based suicide prevention charity, which is aimed at young people up to the age of 25, delivers mental health well-being training to thousands of adults, including parents, managers and educators.
In March the charity rolled out its Suicide First Aid course; and so far 53 individuals have attended this vital class which equips people to recognise the signs of crisis and how to have a three-step conversation that could save a life.
In the last 12 months, 1,725 people have participated in Molly Rose Foundation training, including 110 Parent Workshops and 269 have qualified as Youth Mental Health First Aid Champions.
CEO Andy Burrows said: “These impressive statistics cap a great year of growth for the Molly Rose Foundation and we are proud to have reached and helped so many adults and children.
“The message remains that it’s OK not to be OK, and if you or someone in your life is experiencing poor mental health, there are people and places to turn to. We can help you recognise the signs and give you the confidence to help yourself and others.”
The charity has also distributed 184,000 Where to Find Help Cards. These wallet-sized cards serve as a quick and handy reminder of some of the vital help and resources available to young people in times of crisis.
