The Molly Rose Foundation welcomes Gareth Hill as full-time Head of Communications this week.
Gareth formerly led the NSPCC’s online safety media work and has worked tirelessly with Molly’s father Ian and other bereaved families, as well as young people impacted by online harm, to ensure their voices are heard by decision-makers and the public.
He said: “I am honoured and can’t wait to start helping to build on the impressive impact the MRF has already achieved. By supporting young people, raising greater awareness and training amongst the public and campaigning for effective online safety regulation we can prevent suicide and I look forward to contributing to this mission.”
MRF CEO Andy Burrows said: “I’m delighted that Gareth is joining us. His commitment to online child safety is unparalleled and he will play a key role in delivering our mission in the years ahead.
“Suicide is preventable and Gareth will bring his considerable experience in shaping the news agenda on online safety to ensure the needs of young people are heard loud and clear in the UK and beyond.’
Gareth attended the inquest into Molly’s death in 2022, and saw the devastating role that unchecked and unregulated social media played in her tragic death, cementing the need for robust online safety regulation in protecting young lives.
