‘My bag of happiness’ packs support Children’s Mental Health Week

To help support this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week, first launched by children’s mental health charity Place2Be in 2015, the Molly Rose Foundation (MRF) has designed, produced and distributed brand new ‘My Bag of Happiness’ boxed packs for primary school pupils (Key Stage 2) aged between 7-11 who are currently attending school, as well as those studying at home.

The theme of this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week – taking place from 1st–7th February – is Express Yourself. As Place2Be’s website explains: “Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings, thoughts, or ideas, through creativity. This could be through art, music, writing and poetry, dance and drama, photography and film, and doing activities that make you feel good.”

Making our own contribution towards this important initiative, MRF has included a self-explanatory guide with suggestions on how to use the contents supplied within each ‘My bag of Happiness’ boxed pack. These comprise an attractive purple organza bag containing an MRF-branded pencil together with a ‘luggage’ label and string, a sheet of different coloured smiley-face stickers, a pack of post-it notes, a silicone MRF bracelet and a handful of our popular credit card-sized Help Cards. MRF’s team of volunteers has been busy recently, contacting schools to identify interest in receiving these packs as well as posting them out to recipients and hand-delivering some to schools where appropriate – and within Covid-19 rules.

If you are a teacher or parent and would like to receive one or more of these new MRF boxed ‘My bag of happiness’ packs please contact us via the email address hello@mollyrosefoundation.org to submit your request, letting us know the relevant information (including your name, address, contact details, number of packs required etc). Any additional background details you can provide to us about why you’d like one or more of these packs would also be appreciated.
