The Molly Rose Foundation welcomes the announcement that a Labour government would give new online safety powers to coroners.
The move would enable coroners the powers to access information held by tech companies after a child’s death.
Ian Russell, Chair of Trustees for the charity, said: “We hope this news signals that the safety of our children will be prioritised and ensures that no more families are left to live the rest of their lives mourning the loss of a child taken before their time.
“But we remain firm on the fact that urgent change is still needed.
“On Monday the Molly Rose Foundation will set out a five-point plan that we believe will transform children’s online safety and well-being. Until we see this enacted, too many children will continue to be left behind.”
