The Molly Rose Foundation is proud to announce it has appointed Andy Burrows as its first CEO.
Burrows, who has advised the charity since October 2023, was formerly Head of Child Safety and Online Policy at the NSPCC.
He has 15 years experience leading high impact public policy and public affairs programmes, with deep expertise in online harms, technology, regulated markets and consumer policy.
Burrows, whose new role was confirmed on Monday, said: “It’s an honour and privilege to be appointed CEO of the MRF. Molly’s story has shone a powerful spotlight on the preventable harm faced by young people online, and the courageous and determined work of Ian and the whole Foundation has already made a crucial difference in the UK and beyond.
“I cannot wait to get started as we grow the Foundation and get to work on delivering a strategy that delivers meaningful change to the mental health and wellbeing of our young people.
“Suicide prevention is everyone’s responsibility and it’s the core of our mission at the MRF. We will work tirelessly to ensure children and young people can live long and stay strong. That crucial work begins today.”
Chair of Trustees Ian Russell said: “I, like everyone at the MRF, am delighted Andy Burrows is our charity’s first CEO.
“Since its formation in 2018, MRF has achieved much and we are now in a position to build on this firm foundation.
“Andy’s appointment will enable MRF to do more to raise awareness and to prevent the needless loss of young lives to suicide as we implement a clear, new strategy to fulfil our charitable purposes.
“With Andy at the helm, we have someone with the experience, drive and determination required to ensure MRF succeeds in helping to create a safer world in which young people stay strong and live long.”
